The Heart-nosed Bat (Cardioderma cor) is a species of bat in the Megadermatidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Cardioderma. It is found in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, caves, and hot deserts. The African heart-nosed bat can hear the footsteps of a beetle walking on sand from a distance of more than six feet.
