A strawberry is the only fruit which seeds grow on the outside

The “seeds” on the outside of the strawberry fruit are actually the true fruits. In the flowers of strawberries, the receptacle expands into the tasty succulent tissue that we crave, while the tiny dry fruits, which each contain one seed, sit on the expanding surface.
