No one has ever been killed by a shark in Bermuda


There is no confirmed unprovoked shard attacks in Bermuda since 1580.

Sharks in Bermuda tend to stay far offshore and do not usually venture close to any beach of Bermuda. Even if you can manage to go close to a shark, they are generally harmless and avoid human beings if left to themselves.

There are two popular types of sharks that visit the Bermuda waters – Galapagos and Dusky sharks. Both these species are very calm and harmless in nature.
